Therapist Overview
Are you satisfied with your current relationships? How is your relationship with yourself, with peers, and with others? Working with a relational therapist you may begin to notice changes in the contact you have with others. I view therapy as if I’m in a boat with my clients and we are rowing down a river. I act as a GPS that may invite my client to turn left, right, or even stop and look around; however, my client has the choice to steer and direct us where they would like to go. Together we will safely navigate the water around us, and build support so our boat can get to where it would like to go. Growing up in California as a Jewish Taiwanese athlete, I learned to love the outdoors, cooking, music, and movies. I’ve chosen to work in mental wellness in a holistic way. That is a client subjective, humanistic, and compassion oriented approach. I enjoy working with difference and I invite all types of individuals into my practice. Based on my experiences, society and other systems often push norms or rules for how we “should” be or “shouldn’t” be. I see this as limiting to the human experience. I invite the complex individual to my practice. By accepting ourself and others as complex individuals we hold a greater capacity for compassion toward ourselves and toward others.
