Whether an individual, couple or family are struggling with issues that appear to be a bump in the road of life, stressors that appear to make them feel stuck with no possibilities or are dealing with catastrophic events that have occurred, I work to meet the client where they are at, with the goal to work with them to come up other possible solutions that allow them to get unstuck and make the change that they are hoping to make. I offer a non-judgemental approach to listen to the individual, proceed in a pace where they feel comfortable, and gently challenge what needs to be different. I explore a way to look at what has worked well in the past as well as to champion the individual’s goals of where they want to be in the future. I believe the therapist can be like shoes, in that sometimes you need to try on a lot of different shoes to find the right ones. I believe that therapist are similar in that sometimes you need to find that right one that allows you to develop the three things you need in any relationship in terms of trust, communication, and respect.
