Therapist Overview

Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute’s specialty is spiritually integrated psychotherapy. All therapists are trained to respond with respect and sensitivity to the client’s spiritual viewpoint and welcome discussions of spiritual realities in the therapy room. This makes us uniquely suited to walk with clients through questions such as “why am I here,” “how could God allow this,” and others that may have a spiritual component. Pittsburgh Pastoral Institute works hard to accommodate clients who desire a therapist from their own belief system. Our staff includes therapists from a variety of religions perspectives, both liberal and conservative, as well as other spiritual backgrounds. We welcome clients of all age, race, sexuality and religion. Our ideal client is any individual, couple or family wishing to see a therapist twice a week or less. We do not treat issues of addiction or severe mental illness, as they require more intensive treatment. For a list of current locations, please see our w
