Empathy is a vital part of the healing process. My personal and professional experience have provided me with enriching experiences and have taught me the tools needed to work with people from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religious beliefs, sexual orientations and gender identities . I specialize in working with the couples, families and individuals. Some of the issues clients have brought into therapy include dealing with cultural identities, grief and loss, anger management, substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, parenting challenges and people living with HIV/AIDS. I offer my services in English, Spanish and Portuguese. My clients describe me as warm, empathic, humorous and compassionate. I work from a client-centered perspective where my client’s decisions and opinions in therapy are taken fully into account. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as mindfulness, attachment therapy, CBT, DBT, Trauma Focused to name a few according to my client’s needs.
