Ideally, I would be seeing an individual 14 years old or older, who is anxious and/or depressed because of trauma, past/present abuse, unresolved grief, relational problems, family of origin issues, and/or toxic shame. This would be a person who has a capacity for insight, achievable therapeutic goals, motivation for change, and a reasonably good ability to communicate his or her thoughts and feelings. Foremost, the ideal client would possess the capacity for being honest with themselves even to the point of stretching their comfort zone when necessary, and they would be safe enough for outpatient treatment. I specialize in treating individuals who have been unable to resolve specific traumas that include car accidents, emotional/physical/sexual abuse, combat experiences, and natural disasters.
