Therapist Overview
Clients I have worked with have experienced depression, anxiety, intimacy issues, trauma, family concerns, and daily life struggles. Clients often express feeling “stuck” with where they are in life and have exhausted their normal problem-solving skills before seeking help to get “unstuck”. I work with clients to help them find new ways to work with the problems that bring them into therapy and to achieve their goals briefly out of respect for their time and finances. I love working with the LGBTQIA+/queer population from a social justice and systemic framework. My specialty in the therapy process is maintaining a focus on my client’s needs, goals, and desired outcomes within the therapy process, creating space for their own expression of how those goals are fulfilled, and empowering my client to utilize their own wisdom in the therapy process. Therapy with me is tailored to my client’s skills, strengths, and resources, to be sure that interventions are meeting the needs and abilities of each client. Doing so can lead to a less traditional approach, moving away from the diagnosis, and towards an understanding that all behavior makes sense within the context of the individual or relationship.
