Loss is a universal experience whether associated with moves, jobs, health, disability, developmental stage, divorce, addiction, neglect, physical/sexual abuse, or death. And, yet, most of us weren’t given the tools to navigate and transform loss. Well meaning people may negate our experience with platitudes such as “God never gives you more than you can handle.” As a licensed clinical social worker for over thirty years and a mother who has grieved and recovered from the death of her youngest son, I have a particular passion for and expertise in working with those who are grieving. For twenty years I have worked with adolescents in an outpatient psychiatry practice, witnessing the social context in which they grow become more and more complicated with social media and shooter drills. I’ve successfully worked with adolescents and their parents as they navigate rough waters and celebrated with them when they have found their way. Regardless of what brings you in, I will assist you with removing barriers to living a more meaningful, connected, and joy filled life.
