Therapist Overview
After many years practicing, I continue to provide a safe space to explore concrete steps for life improvement. Through our collaboration, we will work to identify those obstacles creating distress. My approach is to mobilize our capacity for change as well as to understand our fears in doing this. We feel more hopeful as we are empowered to shift our understanding, attitude or behavior. Whether it is the story we tell ourselves about our self-worth or our position in any relationship, we can cultivate a greater awareness of our strengths. I stay open to hearing what a client most needs without a pre-conceived agenda. My experience includes extensive training in mindfulness practice as well as a wide variety of counseling approaches. One of my areas of expertise is grief counseling. I have trained health care/mental health professionals around the United States in communications. My work includes developing more honesty with ourselves and our needs. A first meeting is a great opportunity to see whether there is a personal fit and to explore how I might be able to assist in any current or past challenge. I bring warmth, empathy, humor and a wise approach to counseling in an effort to facilitate a clients own inner wisdom. Clients working with me feel significantly more hopeful about their lives.
