My ideal client has some insight and understands that therapy is work. It’s not just about having me (or anyone else) solve their problems — it’s something that has to be done jointly. They also need to be willing to listen and change. I meet the client where they currently are, and help to normalize their feelings. I will challenge thoughts and feelings that are unhealthy or harmful to the client. I am client-centered, and I believe that positive reinforcement and unconditional positive regard makes it a more comfortable environment in which to make changes. I truly enjoy working with people and helping them work through any issues in order to become a happier person.
