I am a licensed adult and geriatric mental health counselor specializing in the treatment of mid- and late-life depression, anxiety and trauma. I performed my counseling residency at the Weill Cornell Institute for Geriatric Psychiatry and received certifications from EMDRIA, New York University and the Alzheimer’s Association. The work I do is effective for those suffering from issues such as changes in their health or the health of a loved one, family distress, bereavement or loss of independence. A normal treatment program usually involves from six to nine sessions and can be delivered at my office or via telehealth. I am also a trained Caregiver Counselor. In this role, I work with spouses and family members who are struggling with the traumatic life changes that result from a loved one’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia.
