Therapist Overview
Helping people to achieve their full potential is my passion. In my nearly 20 years in the field, I’ve worked with a broad range of clients – from 5 year old children facing traumatic abuse to 100 year old Sisters suffering from dementia. I’ve helped homeless teen parents, boys and girls, men and women, people who weren’t sure who they were and people fighting to be recognized for who they are. For the past 4 years, I have been specializing in treating children and adolescents and am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I work from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic approach, which means I believe thoughts and feelings influence behavior, and vice versa, and from a trauma-informed care perspective. Working with depression, anxiety, and gender identity issues are of special interest to me. I have a Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University South Bend, a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Saint Mary’s College, and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). In my spare time I enjoy acting in community theater, playing the piano, and riding my bike.
