She/Her/Hers
I believe that effective therapy is rooted in the importance of the individual, and built on trust, comfortability, and unconditional empathy. My treatment approach is person-centered, using methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based skills, and Behavioral Modification. I value taking the time to understand my clients’ passions so that I can integrate these into their treatment to build connection in creative ways.
Therapist Overview
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) and graduated with my MSW in Clinical Behavioral Health from the University of Maryland Baltimore. I have received extensive training from The National Adoption Mental Health Training Initiative (NTI) that has given me the tools to help foster and adoptive parents navigate the challenges that can arise with transitions, as well as meet the mental health needs of children in foster, adoptive, or guardianship families. I started my mental health career as a Behavior Technician—working with children on the Autism Spectrum and other developmental disabilities, and moved on to working not only with children, but with families, couples, and adults as well. I have experience working in variety of settings, including preschools, private/public schools, in the home, and on tele-health.
I am passionate about helping clients, no matter their age, navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, depression, religious and childhood trauma, life transitions, adoption/foster care, and loss. I want my clients to not only feel heard and validated in our sessions, but to also leave with practical tools that they can use for years to come.
I believe that working with clients in a compassionate, hands on way, leads to transformative change. Finding a therapist that you can trust with the most vulnerable parts of you, or your loved one’s life can be a daunting investment. It is my job to help you feel fully heard, comfortable, and supported through the process!
