Therapist Overview

My work specializes in helping children and families who have been labeled as developmentally delayed, autistic or otherwise behaviorally marginalized reimagine themselves from a life-skills perspective. Through utilizing a strength based approach, I engage younger clients in therapeutic arts, older clients in cognitive behavioral therapy to target skill acquisition and functional verbal or non verbal communications. Cognitive behavior therapy and positive psychology guide our meetings to build upon ones strengths. Art serves as a metaphor for young clients to form self-confidence and develop functional skills. This approach serves to both relieve daily psychological distress and reframe negative thought patterns so that clients can become fully functional and aware of who they are, and how to apply strengths to navigating daily living.
