For more than 25 years I have worked in the field of adoption. If you are a foster or an adoptive parent, you may find the typical parenting techniques do not work with your child who has suffered early trauma. As a Foundational Theraplay and Trust Based Relational Practitioner, I work closely with the parents in treatment, so you can be an active part of your child’s healing. These therapies also can bring healing to children who have faced issues related to divorce, death of a parent, or early medical care. I am also an attachment and bonding expert for the courts of SC. As an attachment specialist, I want to empower you, as the parent, to help your children heal from wounds of the past. As a trauma-focused counselor I also work with women who are in destructive marriages and have suffered through the hidden abuse of a spouse, family, or church. The counseling is biblically based and clients are offered healing prayer. As an adoptive mom and professional, I understand the issues of adoption, including openness, talking to your child about adoption, and grief and loss. If you, yourself, have experienced a difficult childhood or been in emotionally abusive relationships, through marriage or church, you may find you need healing as well.
