Therapist Overview
Healthy is wealth! Life can be challenging and often emotionally draining, especially with COVID-19 lurking. As humans we get stressed, but work it out & bounce back. But if this stress leads to excessive crying, sadness, fatigue, or triggers you to overeat, abuse alcohol/drugs or engage in risky activities, then it’s time to seek help. Negative thoughts/behaviors are your body’s “alarm system” to inform you that something is wrong & if these symptoms are left untreated they can aide disorders like anxiety, depression, trauma, or even diseases such as heart diseases, diabetes & more. As a Columbia University mental health practitioner, I believe psychotherapy can be just as effective as medication. Still, getting therapy for yourself or a loved one can feel strange, especially the first time. But working with a therapist is not that different from working with a medical doctor; they help you heal your body, I help you heal your mind. Although trained to work with individuals of all ages and disorders, I specialize in families, couples, and teens to build communication skills and emotional stability. I am also a Forensic SW who conducts divorce mediations, child custody & visitation evaluations.
