Hi, I’m Amy! I believe therapy is a supportive, non-judgmental space that allows us to confront what is not working, tackle problems, and understand goals. I work with adults and adolescents who are looking to improve their wellness, manage emotions, develop self-esteem, improve communication, and cope with stress. Stress can be brought on by life transitions, trying to understand career/school and personal goals, navigating relationships, and much more. Together, we will develop an understanding of your beliefs and emotions, allowing you to respond rather than react in order to ultimately give you a sense of control. I draw upon CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Psychodynamic interventions combined with mind-body awareness to develop a holistic approach to well-being. Throughout therapy, we will work together to uncover core beliefs, explore different perspectives, and commit to changing behaviors. My role is to give you access to new tools and strengthen the tools that already exist. You deserve to develop skills that will help you improve self-care, self-compassion, and coping. Therapy is hard work and also very rewarding. It can be intimidating to start therapy and tell a stranger your thoughts and feelings. Developing a rapport together is the first priority.
