Therapist Overview
Life can be challenging, and with the challenges we face it is important to make sure we are attentive to mental health. Sometimes though, we face challenges that require emotional skills and tools that we feel we do not have, and that is where the role of the counselor begins. Through empathy, active listening, and client collaboration, my goal as a counselor is to help clients develop the skills to face the challenges they are struggling with and identify barriers that keep them from achieving their goals. I primarily use techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, reality therapy, and family systems. I received my BA in Psychology from Ohio State University and my MA in Counseling from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. I work with individuals wrestling with a variety of issues, such as anxiety and depression. Additionally, I am able to offer guidance for issues related to LGBTQ+ spiritual trauma, such as recovery from reparative therapy programs.
