My role is to help those who are seeking out their paths and to manage the difficulties that life can present. I was told early on in my education that “life is a series of losses and a therapist’s role is to help folks manage these losses.” Loss does not just include the death of a loved one but it could represent other forms of loss such as identity. I provide support and validation for these losses that may have originally been invalidated by being told “just get over it” or “pull yourself up by the boot straps.” I have experience working with a wide range of populations who are managing various issues. Such issues include: grief and loss, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship issues, and other psychosocial stressors.
