Therapist Overview
I know that taking the first step to reaching out to a therapist takes a lot of self reflection and soul searching. We all need help at one point, to reach the next level of personal growth. My style of therapy is walking with my client to where they want to go. I will be here to listen with compassion and openness about your personal struggles and past traumas. I will help you learn coping skills as needed for your sadness and anxiety. I will help you determine and discuss plans for your future. I will create a safe space, free of judgment, for 1 hour each week in our therapy sessions. I use an eclectic style of therapy, with influences from the following theories: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Gottman, and Structural Family Therapy. I use what I think is helpful in the moment with my clients. I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process and a journey that you walk down with your therapist.
