Suzanne Mascorro

I value all individuals and believe in everyone’s capacity to heal. I have worked with diverse populations and ages including adolescents and teens, LQBTQ spectrum, adults, individuals with chronic mental health and physical health issues, and older adults. I have experience and focus on issues including transition, trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, identity, and relationship issues. I believe that counseling is a collaboration between the client and the therapist. I aim to create a welcoming space so clients can gain new perspectives and new skills in order to manage their life transitions and stressors. I believe that therapy should work for our unique needs and experiences and I tailor my approach as such. I utilize modalities like CBT, person centered approach, strengths based perspective, motivational interviewing, trauma informed, and more. I believe that changing maladaptive thought processes and coping mechanisms can be the key to positive change. I believe in importance of the therapeutic alliance and that clients should feel safe and supported. As a person I value authenticity, which I bring into my practice. I believe that everyone has inherent strengths that have gotten them this far and want clients to continue bettering themselves, their relationships, and experiences through therapeutic goals.
