Therapist Overview
I love working with adult clients in areas of identity, relationships, stress/anxiety, family of origin issues, and substance use (though do not provide individual treatment for substance abuse). I also work with both traditional and non-traditional couples (dyads or other) to address issues of communication while fostering mutual love, care, trust, and respect and restoring harmony in relationships. I take a strengths-based, proactive approach to treatment to facilitate healing while building lifelong skills and a strong sense of self-worth. Areas of specialty include relationship issues, managing emotions, LGBTQ+ issues, substance use disorders, and violence prevention. Well versed in facilitating groups and working with individuals and couples. Other areas of strength include mental illness, trauma, and issues with grief and loss. Training in EMDR in the near future. I am located in the Richmond, VA area at Richmond Creative Counseling, and have office hours throughout the day to accommodate a variety of client schedules. I am not currently accepting new clients.
