Therapist Overview
The demands of daily living often deny us the opportunity to reflect upon and respond to that which needs healing. Beyond helping you find relief from distressing symptoms, I aim to create an affirming space where you can explore and repair patterns that have left you feeling stuck, lost and disconnected. Our work will focus on empowering you to claim the life you deem meaningful and the relationships you find fulfilling. Having been fortunate to work with clients of diverse backgrounds and ages, I am attuned to the ways that culture informs experience and draw upon these considerations throughout my work with teens to older adults. Because our needs are shaped by unique histories, I approach treatment planning with flexibility, sensitivity and a commitment to collaboration. Experienced in treating depression, anxiety, complex trauma, and relationship distress, I draw on attachment and psychodynamic theories while integrating evidence-based practice, including CBT and EFT for couples. Outside of private practice, I serve as a clinical faculty member at the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Center at NYU School of Medicine, where I provide therapy to veterans and their family members as well as train doctoral students. When not conducting clinical work, I research the experiences of LGBTQ individuals within religious communities.
