It’s difficult to find the right therapist, with the many different treatment approaches, personalities, and even worldviews. As a Catholic-Christian therapist, I know it’s especially challenging to find a therapist who is professional (ie, not a pastor or preacher) and yet competent to understand the unique experiences and challenges of people of faith. There are many reasons why people might seek services, from feeling stuck to deeply hurting, or simply to pursue a greater degree of flourishing in one’s life. Whatever the reason, it is my goal to provide the environment and relationship where healing and growth can occur. I work with a team at the Divine Mercy Clinic and Family Center (www.dmclinic.org), the go-to Catholic mental health center in Los Angeles county. I operate mostly from a psychodynamic approach, integrating developmental and attachment theory with an interpersonal, insight-oriented focus. I also have a unique background in philosophy/theology.
