Therapist Overview

I exclusively serve individuals and families connected to adoption. I am a therapist with a passion for supporting individuals, families and children as they explore their challenges and move forward toward change. I came to this career after spending many years as a writer and editor. My past work informs and enriches my work with clients today. I believe in the power of narrative and the importance of telling our stories and having our voices heard. I take an active, down-to-earth approach, and I will meet you with curiosity, humor, empathy and respect. I am experienced in the unique themes that emerge for adoptees, adoptive parents and birth parents. I use an integrative style, blending psychodynamic and behavioral therapies to best meet client’s needs. I use an attachment-based lens in my work with children and their parents with a focus on strengthening their bond. My colleagues and I at Spence-Chapin provide a welcoming and affirming environment. We exclusively serve individuals
