Therapist Overview
I have worked successfully with a wide variety of families, couples, and individuals. Early in my training, I developed a specialty in working with highly conflicted divorces. My goals were always to help people improve their ability to work together by choosing better approaches and developing greater empathy for one another. More recently, I have worked extensively with adolescents and their families dealing with difficulties like Borderline Personality Disorder, self-harm/suicidality, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Throughout my career I have also worked with individuals, couples, and families on a wide variety of other issues. At its core, my approach is relationship focused, empathetic, and goal-directed. In everything I do, I seek to understand clients and their critical connections. I try to deepen my understanding and others understandings of their loved ones and their world. In all of this, I constantly assess our goals for treatment and our progress towards them. Making the decision to see a therapist is often difficult. Choosing a therapist, with worries about fit, methods, and everything else, can feel insurmountable. My goal is to be helpful in whatever way I can be. If I’m not sure I can help you, I will let you know and provide what help I can to get you where you need to be. Please reach out.
