I believe there is an innate desire within every human to be seen and heard, and to receive value and significance. For so many, a message filled with lies was internalized, “Who cares what I think? My feelings aren’t important.” My NUMBER ONE focus is to create an atmosphere where my clients feel at ease, and valued and given the freedom to tell their unique and personal story. The meaning of “Therapy” to me is this, “Therapy is the miracle of, “You tell” and “I listen”. Therapy is the wonder of being heard and understood.” The goal of therapy is for the “best you” to emerge as skills and strategies are learned and implemented. I adhere strongly to cognitive behavioral therapy. My approach is to uncover one’s thoughts, targeting irrational thoughts and assisting the client to move forward into a place of freedom, where one’s mind is renewed by a focus on life-giving thoughts.
