More often than not, we can find ourselves cruising on autopilot amidst our busy schedules and various responsibilities. There does not seem to be enough time to take a pause and allow ourselves to “just be.” We may suddenly find ourselves feeling disconnected from others and feeling like we are not living our lives as fully as we would like to. I believe that we strive for a deeper connection to others, our surroundings, and most importantly to ourselves, which is why I believe that therapy can be used as a vessel to explore unfulfilled needs and discover our authentic selves. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable to someone new can be overwhelming. I encourage my clients to explore hidden parts of their true self that have been shielded from years of adversity and trauma.
