Therapist Overview
I was raised in a military family in the small town of El Paso, Texas. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas, El Paso in Criminal Justice before moving to California and earning my Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. I was exposed to many cultures and people from all socio-economic backgrounds. I learned, and continue to learn, effective ways to communicate and develop strong, lasting relationships by focusing on on and changing behaviors, thoughts and feelings that affect my life. With a little hard work and commitment I can help you do the same I began my career over 30 years ago in child welfare. I spent several years working directly with children with developmental disabilities before moving to adult mental health. Upon moving to Nevada, I worked for Nv. Department of Corrections before transitioning to the Department of Veterans Affairs to serve veterans in the community. Change is difficult and learning to trust someone you don’t know is even harder. Reaching out to a licensed professional is the first step. By investing in yourself you are taking control of your own happiness. I would love to be a part of that journey and I look forward to talking with you.
