Therapist Overview
As a Chicago Police Officer with over twenty-one years of experience and member of the Rosecrance Florian Advisory Committee and Illinois Mental Health Counseling Association, I have a passion for working with the first responder community. I’ve discovered I possess, through my various work-related experiences and clinical training, a profound desire to understand the dynamics of human behavior and help those who are trained to protect and serve the lives of others. In terms of treatment approach, I lean towards client-centered counseling, which identifies the client as being the best authority on his or her own experiences. My goals are to gradually introduce a client back into society with a greater understanding of themselves and the world in which they dwell through the use of empathy, acceptance, and genuineness. In order to achieve positive change, we must be willing to be challenged in a manner that is at times uncomfortable. Now, let’s take a deep breath together and begin our journey in creating a happier tomorrow!
