Therapist Overview
I enjoy helping couples and individuals gain greater self-understanding, new relational insights, adaptive tools, and more effective interpersonal patterns. My approach is cross-disciplinary, incorporating experience in social work (BSW), ministry (MDiv, DMin, CSD) and counseling (MAC, LPC, EMDR, Gottman Method Couples Therapy). Through these overlapping disciplines I’ve noticed consistency in what brings healing, wholeness, and harmonious relationships. Theoretically, I am grounded in Attachment Theory, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, and Christian theology. Training from Seattle’s Gottman Institute further informs my work with couples. I utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to address trauma, as well as to help individuals forge new responses to old triggers. Married for over thirty years, I am a father and a “Poppi.” I have some evening and Saturday office hours.
