Therapist Overview
I utilize strengths-based therapies to work with my clients to create customized sessions that build coping skills and replace maladaptive behaviors. I am mindful of the “person-in-environment” perspective, which acknowledges that each client and situation is different and shaped by environmental context. I like to meet the client where they are mentally and emotionally and work from that spot, understanding that growth is not always a linear process. I use a combination of DBT (mindfulness and skills), CBT (creation of skills), and ACT (acceptance and mindfulness) to address both current and past issues, as well as work towards improvement in the client’s life. I work with individuals who identify as LGBTQA as well as clients with illness (chronic or acute) management, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, self-esteem, family conflict, and disordered eating.
