The disease of addiction can be very difficult to cope with and incredibly hard on families. The global pandemic we’re experiencing has made it even easier to isolate and become depressed or anxious. I have extensive experience working with young adults and professionals who are finding ways to navigate their symptoms. Together we can work on identifying patterns that haven’t been serving you and work to create new and more positive coping skills. My experiences have been characterized by working with those who are not only struggling with addiction, but also experiencing a mental health issue. This is sometimes referred to as “dual diagnosis.” For example, one may struggle with anxiety or depression and substance use at the same time. I currently work in community psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital and have several years of experience working with young adults, teens, athletes, and college students.
