The answer to the question is false. Psychology and systems theory show us that any change in the system (family, group or society) changes the system. Therefore a more truthful axiom is the only person you can willingly change is yourself. After 20+ years in the mental health field I realize it is when a change to the system or when an individual change is when conflict, problems, symptom appear or worsen.
