Therapist Overview
***CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS*** With a background in counseling college-aged men, specifically collegiate athletes and student leaders, it is apparent to me that many of us men are taught to disintegrate our hearts and our heads in order to navigate our lived experience. We learn that emotions are not to be trusted, indeed that they are to be suspended if we are to make intelligent decisions in life. Along with this mistrust of emotion I often encounter the harmful effects of fatherlessness or abusive/neglectful father figures on men, their understanding of masculinity, and how that masculinity expresses itself in daily life. It has been a pleasure for me to journey with men as they learn to re-integrate their hearts and their heads, to help them understand what they feel and why, to assist in addressing issues of anger, relationship, identity development, and vocational aspiration. As men we rarely interact at such a depth with each other but great good can come when we do. It seems a rare thing in our culture that a man would admit he needs help navigating the twists and turns of life’s journey. I believe that we must build an understanding and acceptance of life as it is now if we wish to see real progress in that journey. I encourage you to reach out should you desire to make meaningful progress toward a better future.
