Amber Runkel

I am a passionate, open-minded, and supportive therapist who provides client-centered and compassionate therapy while exploring each client’s definition of what is normal and healthy. I strive to help clients unbind fears, gain insight and acceptance, and heal emotional wounds. I specialize in individual, couple, and family therapy with an emphasis on self-discovery, mindfulness, and enhancing positive energy and interactions. I purely enjoy working with diverse clients, especially those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer etc., as well as, trauma survivors, and those who are surviving symptoms of depression and anxiety. I am licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy by the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science, and trained to work within the context of the internal and external system to create growth and therapeutic change.
