As a mental health clinican with over forty years of life experience, I believe that perception affects an individual’s performance. I find that if a person believes they can do something well, they will do it well and vice versa. I am especially interested in this observable fact and how an individual’s perception and cognitive process affects their behavior. Interestingly enough most people normalize behaviors, behaving according to how their community, family, friends or worst yet life long patterns of maladaptive behaviors; equipping my clients with a diverse set of tools to handle life stressors is essential for optimum living. Improving the well-being of a client in a relaxed, one-on-one setting is essential to my practice. But my ultimate goal is to equip my clients with the necessary tools to take on their respective endeavors and impact my community with sound intervention.
