As a counselor I show compassion and acceptance to every client I work with, and hope to serve all populations and people from all walks of life. I believe that through empowerment goals can be met and achieved. People have the ability to heal and grow from their hardships, and when we look within ourselves that is the best way to grow. Experiences in our lives don’t determine who we are, but how we handle and learn from them is how we grow as human beings. In working with children who are acting out or distressed, there is more behind those actions, and individual or play therapy can help them to process their emotions and actions. Ashlyn works individually with children and adults, as well as seeing couples and families. She is passionate about working with children and adolescent of all ages, and using play therapy with children. She has a background with acute mental illness, and also working with trauma.
