Therapist Overview
We all seek clarity in ourselves, our pasts & relationships , and into our future. “Why do I feel this way?”, “Why did that happen to me?”, “What will happen next?”. Such questions can be uncomfortable at times, causing many of us to want to hide or resist them. I see my role of therapist as a translator. I help parents to better understand behaviors and communicate feelings of their young children, and I support adolescents and adults as they uncover their own emotions and identity. My goal is to help individuals by translating confusing messages from their own past through inner-child work. I use an integrative approach that feels authentic to me and supports my belief that there is no “one size fits all” treatment plan. I see each client as a unique individual who is already the expert on themselves. I use a Humanistic and Person-Centered basis and also have specialized training in CBT, Attachment theory & Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. Originally from Mississippi, I moved from Portland, OR to Nashville in 2014. I am deeply grateful to have a job that I look forward to daily. I’m often amazed by my clients- their resilience, strength and vulnerability. I believe my naturally calm affect & my sense of humor are what helps people to feel at ease and supported in my office, without judgment.
