Claudia Hernandez

Currently a doctoral candidate at Adler University, pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education & Supervision, Claudia Hernandez holds a degree in Master of Art in Counseling, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University. Her counseling experience has been in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with experience in working with mild to severe clinical presentations, symptoms, and diagnoses. When she first meets guests, she sees them as individuals who are impacted by internal and external forces that are sometimes out of our control. Her keen awareness in the following areas are strengths: dealing with anxiety, career changes, coping with past traumas or tough relationships, and supporting those dealing with family members with mental health struggles. She has a sharp understanding on how to support partners needing help navigating their Partner Goals especially when bumps arise. Some of her approaches include: Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Feminist and Multicultural Theory, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, & Solution-Focused Therapy. She is currently accepting guests in English/Spanish at our Wicker Park & Old Town studios.
