If you’re like me, you know what the right thing is. After all, you’re the expert on you. But that’s just the problem, isn’t it? You know the right thing, you know what’s true, and yet still you struggle with self-criticism and doubt. You know you can’t be perfect, and yet you feel shame for not being enough. And you don’t know how to reconcile what you know with what you feel. Truthfully, this is a common problem. But just because it’s common, doesn’t mean you have to go along with it. Coping skills are great – and necessary. But God called us to an abundant life, and simply coping isn’t what He had in mind. Good news is, this isn’t all there is. Trained in EMDR, I work with clients who want to get to the root of the issue, rather than trim the tree. Don’t spend another day wondering when things will get better.
