Therapist Overview
With nearly 15 years of experience in the mental health field, ranging from residential/enhanced services for children/adolescents to intensive substance abuse counseling and basic outpatient services with adults, I have found it incredibly rewarding to support anyone- be it individuals, families, or couples- in their journey towards recovery and wellness and I enjoy working with all ages (3 to 300)! I find joy assisting those seeking healing from a variety of mental health and substance use disorders including anxiety, depression, oppositional defiance, parenting support, addictions, anger management, trauma, and other stressors. I promote the strengths perspective to help anyone discover and expand on their unique strengths to promote wellness and recovery. I utilize evidence-based interventions (CBT, DBT, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing) to create a person-centered plan guided by the client to meet any desired goals. With my therapeutic strengths of engagement, individualized evidenced-based interventions, and a little humor, I find joy assisting those seeking healing utilizing a variety of interventions (music, art, physical exercise) to promote openness of expression. It takes courage to make a change and I am honored to be invited along for the journey!
