Therapist Overview
At Animal Assisted Therapy of the Triangle, we believe in the power of the human-animal bond to accelerate client awareness, insight and growth. We incorporate animals into the therapeutic process, when appropriate and aligned with client goals. I believe the relationship which develops between the client and the therapist is an important element of successful therapy. I team up with my rescue dogs Ella and Cricket, who are my co-therapists, or with horses and other farm animals to bring an individualized and tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each client. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults and couples who could be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, school/work stress, or other forms of emotional and behavioral distress. I provide a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment for clients to explore their concerns and develop helpful coping skills in a safe space. My counseling style is person-centered, integrating interventions from cognitive-behavioral therapy, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused brief therapy with a focus on mindfulness. If you are experiencing distressing symptoms, we will work collaboratively to tailor sessions that address your specific goals.
