That tightness in your chest, laying awake in your bed at night thinking about all the things your “should have” done, pacing the room, the worry if “am I good enough,” worrying if you forgot something, constantly thinking people are thinking negative things about you—these are not healthy thoughts and they most likely did not happen overnight. The goal for all my clients is to help alleviate these symptoms by connecting in a genuine and real way so that you feel heard, valued, and comfortable enough to address the root cause of these symptoms. It’s okay if you don’t know why they started either, we will figure it out together. My approach to therapy is to identify what is causing you distress, get to the root cause of it and help you make sense of it and reprocess it. We will look at memories that may be less than nurturing and had a traumatic effect on you, mentally or even physically. These memories can get stuck in a negative loop in your mind, EMDR will help “unstick” them. Feeling anxious, depressed, or scared are very normal responses that can be triggered by everyday activities. I will help you figure out what your triggers are and help you address them. I am completely online, which means you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home to meet with me.
