Therapist Overview
*Not currently accepting*Change, transition, and facing the unknown can be incredibly overwhelming. I believe in sitting together with my clients in whatever they are experiencing and working together to explore meaning and any possible resolutions. Operating from a place of strengths-based support and solidarity, I will empower you to identify and adapt to your needs. By incorporating psychoeducation, trauma informed care, and evidence-based practices, I will work with you and hear you to understand your symptoms, guide you in learning and practicing skills to manage your distress, and provide a space for continued transformation. In addition to implementing core techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as a counselor, I’m also an artist and a Board-Certified Art Therapist. Sometimes words fail and the creative process can function as a natural guide to better understand and reflect on our thoughts, desires, and questions. In art therapy we may utilize art-making as an introspective process, a mindfulness-based coping skill, or as a way to experience freedom, play, and catharsis. You are not expected to have training or skill as an artist when using art in therapy but a willingness to explore (and get a little messy) is encouraged! **Saturday appointments only at this time!**
