Therapist Overview
I believe that successful treatment of children, youth, adults, and families occurs when the treatment approach is client-centered, family-focused, culturally competent, and reliant on evidenced-based treatment modalities. For over 25 years as an LICSW I have worked with a wide range of mental health issues including trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and attachment disorders and how they impact the overall functioning of the client and the family. I have extensive clinical experience working with children and families in a variety of settings including home and school, outpatient clinics, and inpatient adolescent treatment program. My approach to therapy incorporates both traditional evidence based practices such as (DBT), (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and play therapy, as well as alternative strategies including mind-body connections, meditation, breath work, guided imagery, art and music therapy, and journaling.
