Therapist Overview
Are you struggling in your day-to-day life and need someone to listen without judgement and support you emotionally? Do you need some skills to cope with life? Increasing awareness and learning effective ways to handle situations and communicate feelings can lead to positive change and more meaningful relationships. I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and DBT (Dialectical) in my practice. Currently I’m using teletherapy in a confidential space (in Santa Barbara). Themes of transition, independence, connection, self-esteem, identity, mood management and substance use may be explored. I like to look at what lifestyle routines need adjusting and often suggest mindfulness practices and Positive Psychology in addition to CBT and DBT. I currently work part-time at UCSB as a Behavioral Health Therapist, counseling students (many of them student athletes). With a personal background in swimming, water polo, running and triathlon, I often explore with clients what fitness or hobbies they enjoy, and add to our collaborative treatment plans when indicated.
