Trevor Mcmurray

Hi, I’m Trevor. I have served in the mental health field for nearly two decades, assisting countless people overcome challenges and lead more fulfilling lives. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Master Addiction Counselor assisting individuals, couples, and families. My practice foundations are in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other solution-focused interventions. I have trained under Steven Rollnick, a co-founder of Motivational Interviewing – the current therapeutic standard for treating substance use disorders and other addictions. I also use EMDR to assist clients experiencing the emotional and physical impact of traumatic events. However, education and training do not guarantee effective treatment. Research suggests that, more than any theoretical foundation, the ability to establish genuine connections with people is the greatest predictor of successful counseling. To this end, I bring my authenticity, sense of humor, and direct approach to the work I do. I can be of service to people with the following challenges: addiction, relationship difficulties, work stress, family conflict, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Each individual brings strengths in addition to difficulties when entering therapy. I can help harness these assets for progress and growth.
