Therapist Overview
I offer individual, couple and family counseling. My approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and outcome-informed. You are the expert on your own life. Whether your goal is to resolve relationship conflict, recover from trauma or loss, receive parenting support, explore issues of identity and spirituality, optimize your career, or learn how to decrease anxiety or depression, my goal is to walk with you and provide a place where you can express yourself freely without being judged. I believe that just as relationships can be the source of hurt, we also heal through community in safe relationships. It is easy to become discouraged when we’re problem-focused. Counseling often can be overly focused on what’s going wrong, instead of on what’s going right. The stress of your situation may obscure the positive things happening in your life, but together, we can find what’s going right so you can use your strengths more intentionally to achieve your goals. Pain comes into every human life. The thing that makes pain intolerable is feeling alone in our pain. I want my clients to know and feel that they are not alone. The basis of an effective counseling relationship is trust and authenticity and that is what I offer more than any particular therapeutic approach.
