Therapist Overview
am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have experience working with individuals who are coping with chronic mental health symptoms, to those who are working on adjustment in their lives. I have worked in several areas including a community mental health center, a college counseling center, and an inpatient residential treatment center. In these settings, I’ve worked with individuals with adjustment issues, trauma, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and self image issues. I would consider myself as an eclectic therapist who focuses on treatment for the individual. I do draw some strategies and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Practices, and Motivational Interviewing. I enjoy working with men, women, couples, and college students. My passion is working with people to help them grow, reach their potential, set healthy boundaries with others, know their worth, all while empowering people to make changes that they desire. I believe that there are times in life when a little extra support can be tremendous, and a therapeutic relationship can truly make a difference in a person’s life.
