Ryan Michael Schwartzmeyer

I work with people who have trouble regulating emotion. I am skilled in several different types of therapy, however, I have a significant amount of advanced training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I tend to work with people who are experiencing depression, suicidal ideation, self harming behavior, trauma and anxiety. I can tailor my treatment style to meet the unique needs of each individual, couple or family. I’m at my office in Lake St. Louis monthly until the spring when hours will increase. My practice is unique because I offer Autism testing, marathon couples therapy sessions and couples workshops. I find that people are told from a young age to “use your coping skills” and we neglect teaching them how to cope. I provide clients with hundreds of practical skills to get through tough situations while also addressing the underlying issues. Often times we get so caught in the chaos of daily life that we stop noticing our inner thoughts and feelings. The feedback I get from clients is that my practice is unique because of my down to earth personality, the value I place on their goals and time, and the hours that I keep. I try to make therapy as undaunting and accessible as possible. I also offer Telehealth to supplement regular therapy appointments.
